About Us

  • The type of stage that AHS has is a proscenium stage. A proscenium stage resembles a television. It has three walls, the fourth wall acting as the "screen" of the stage. The proscenium stage acts as a sort of frame to the performances, like a picture.

  • We have around 1,200 seats.

  • John Goodman started his career on this stage and he has supported the theater program since.

  • Every year, we do a play for the first semester and a musical every second semester. Some of the past plays include:

    • 45 Seconds from Broadway

    • The Diary of Anne Frank

    • Harvey

    • Arsenic and Old Lace

    • The Death of Doctor Kingsley (an Affton High Original)

  • Some of the musicals include:

    • Les Misérables

    • Fiddler on the Roof

    • Hello Dolly

    • Little Shop of Horrors
