Crews

Involved in each production is 10/11 different crews. Each play an important role in the making of the shows. Each crew has their own set of hard work that threads the production all together. Without them we wouldn't have shows.

Make-up/Costumes - The crew in charge of designing ideas for the makeup and costumes for the actors. After devising basic diagrams, they search for the precise costumes for each character.

Sound - The crew in charge of getting sound effects and putting them into the show. They also make sure all mics work and turn them off and on when needed.

Lighting - They figure out where to put lights on stage and when. They use different lights to set different moods.

Sets - They figure out where to put lights on stage and when. They use different lights to set different moods.

Scenic - Sets people just build the sets. That’s literally it. They also order boards and stuff, and use cool drills, the “Genie”, etc.

Stage Managers - Stage Managers make sure that everything backstage is going according to plan. Checking for props to be in the correct position for each scene, ensuring that the lighting and sound have perfect timing, and so much more. They also do lots of housekeeping around the stage, cleaning up and such.

Producers - Directors have lots to worry about, but for all the “small potatoes”, the producers take care of. Such as, grading those in the theatre class, creating/organizing grading charts, attendance, and so forth.

Asst. Director - The assistant director usually helps out with blocking (with actors), makes permission forms for field trips, individual assignments, and much much more.

Props - Our props crew have to assign props to certain characters as a form of blocking, as well as assigning the props to different sides of the stage. They also clean up the props room and organize things backstage.

Dramaturges (Girl Fridays) - Dramaturges research historical background for the production.

Pit - The pit orchestra plays the music for the plays and musicals. The pit orchestra gives students a chance to participate in the plays and musicals.
